More Open, Accessible and Responsive
Government
- More
Open Government
- Begin
Televising Borough meetings with an existing volunteer committee at no
cost to the Borough or the taxpayers of Wanaque
- Utilize
the Borough website to better inform the public
- List
all public notices including issues that will be addressed at upcoming
meetings
- Include
entire budget not just a summary
- Separate
Mayor and Council work meeting from regular business meeting
- This
would allow citizens the opportunity to research the topics to be
voted on and ask informed questions at the regular business meeting
- More
Accessible Government
- Residents
should not have to wait until the monthly Mayor and Council meeting to bring important issues
to the attention of the elected officials
- Implement
an easy method of contacting elected and
appointed officials so residents can notify us of community issues
- List
email addresses for elected and appointed officials on the Borough website
- I
will maintain my website www.davedasilva.com
and email address dave@davedasilva.com
after the election. This will allow residents to contact me and get
information about our community even if the other members of the
Borough Council do not support a More Accessible Government
- More
Responsive Government
- I
want residents to have access to Responsive elected officials and feel
confident that we are listening to their concerns and doing our best to
assist them in resolving the problems
- I
would like residents to feel comfortable contacting me and discussing
their neighborhood issues and know that I will do the best I can to truly
represent their interests on the Wanaque Borough Council
- At
public meetings and during private conversations with residents, if I
cannot support the issue they need resolved, I plan on telling them why
I feel the way I do and explaining my position.
I will not send them away without explanation and treat them like
just another person waiting in line -- “OK, who's next?…”
